Tennessee’s Chris Johnson ran away with the 2009 FSWA fantasy football most valuable player award, claiming 85 percent of all first place votes cast. The second-year back rushed for 2,006 yards and found the end zone 16 times for fantasy owners.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished second, followed by Baltimore’s Ray Rice, New Orleans’ Drew Brees and Jacksonville’s Maurice Jones-Drew.

Carolina running back DeAngelo Williams won the award in 2009; New England quarterback Tom Brady won it in 2008.

In fantasy football rookie of the year voting, Minnesota’s Percy Harvin claimed 56 percent of the first place ballots but barely edged Denver’s Knowshon Moreno in the final voting. Chris Wells of Arizona finished third, followed by Indianapolis’ Austin Collie and the Giants’ Hakeem Nicks.

The first annual FSWA all-fantasy team was competitive at running back and tight end. Only one vote separated Dallas Clark and Vernon Davis, while split voting for Ray Rice and Maurice Jones-Drew allowed Adrian Peterson to crack the first team.
